About Sylvia

I was born 1966 in Falkirk, Bonnie Scotland. My grandfather and great uncle were keen amateur photographers. As a child I recall enjoying my mother’s tape slides, sharing her times in Linlithgow and being encouraged to pick up my camera to document my life through the lens. My early interest in creative studies at the school was extended during training in 2010 for NQ Photography at North Glasgow College where I studied film, Darkroom Development and Digital. Then I went on to study HNC/HND Digital at Reid Kerr College in Paisley, graduating in Paisley Abbey in 2012. I worked with a wide range of subject matter.

I have travelled extensively and draw inspiration for work wherever I go. I have a varied range of portfolios ranging from Architectural, Landscapes, Macro, Corporate, Portrait etc. I much prefer the candid photo, when I capture that moment in time – a photo which has lasting memories. In 2016 I was a volunteer guide for the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow where I was lucky enough to come across various Photographers and artists work.
